The work used an old found fishing boat that was over 70 feet long and need to essentially be taken apart and rebuilt with an inner steel structure to hold it together as well as a simple hanging system that lifted this massive load but didn’t distract the eye. Furthermore parts of the exteriors of the boat required significant restoration and repair to allow for longevity
Although pre-made, this South Indian wood and terra-cotta granary which was the size of a small hut, required immense effort and expertise to assemble and de-assemble as the entire house came apart into small puzzle-like pieces which then had to be re-fitted together without using a single nail or adhesive. Also from the centre of the the hut, a blinding light emanated, an effect created by the custom made LED light panel.
A seemingly humble, old terra-cotta jar sits on top of simple concrete pedestal. However, a hint of a glimmering light through the hole at the bottom of the jar, encourages the viewer to peep inside, where they will find a hidden treasure of brightly lit hanging utensils.
